Styling An Oversized Floral Dress

In this blog I am styling an oversized floral shirt dress by Monki. It’s one of those effortlessly chic summer style staples that keeps on coming back to fashion season after season.

I bought this one already in April but luckily we had a great spring here in The Netherlands so I got to wear it quite a lot already. That makes my fashion review really honest because I have actually used it.

I know people are sometimes sceptical about blogger style reviews and I totally get it. There are a lot of people who just make an unboxing or a haul post or a video but never tell you how the items work in real life.

With my posts I want to give you a realistic idea how the item works after few uses. The idea is to get the most out of your clothing by styling them right. I also want to include some care instructions to make your life a breeze.

Style Crush On Monki Sizing

From this particular model I fit a size S which is rare. But it’s an oversized model so it does make sense. Normally I would buy a medium from Monki but their loose fits work in a small for me too.

This makes the brand attractive for my voluptuous readers who struggle to fit a high street XL. I have seen a couple of larger fashion girls rock this brand and they look amazing !

I also very much like their inclusive marketing. They display regularly people of color, gender neutral models, people with skin conditions and people of all sizes.

They also make a huge amount of really great business casual clothing for you to rock in the office or WFH. So all in all, it’s worth checking the brand out!

Flower Power Shirt Dress Crush

So now that you have your flower frock (shopping links will follow so keep on reading), of course you want to make sure that you are going to get the most out of it. Max out your fashion fun this summer and learn to style your oversized floral dress.

I styled mine with a simple black block heel sandal. Their only detail is a subtle golden buckle. I kept my jewelry to the minimum and made the dress do the talking. This oversized floral dress could easily be worn late in the summer months, even early autumn with a few clever styling tricks.

Now you just need to select a dress that makes your heart skip a beat. All under 50 because life happens outside your well curated closet.

Additional Style Tips

You can always take the maximalist route and style yours with the colors of the rainbow. Pick any color (or more) from the print and go wild. Matching your nails to your dress is a low-commitment way to look stylish. The sky is the limit!

Floral dresses are great! I like a busy darker pattern that hides stains and is not underwear specific. Check out the options on my post if you need to go shopping xxx

Oooh, I do love a floral dress, they’re so easy to wear because you don’t need to think of accessories much! Just keep them simple and let the dress act as a center of attention. Actually, I just realized I don’t have a floral dress 😮 I’ve got one suuuper old one but it’s for fancy Summer parties and also too big for me… I guess it’s time to go shopping 😉
